Issue 1 : The First

Showcasing emerging and established talent from around the world, the first issue brought together the work from talented artists, illustrators, photographers, poets, chefs, writers and stylists.

Published in January 2009 to a great response, issue one was bursting at the seems with an eclectic array of art, articles and a meadow in a bag from our very own Guerrilla Gardener, artist Sinead Carey. We gave a quick nod to our predecessors; the people behind Connected, Analogue and Foggy Notions. Richie Egan, head honcho of Jape and the Redneck Manifesto talked to our Stephen. We squeezed in an intellectual muse on music from the brilliant Hunter Gatherer. We have a deathly short story, a lament for analogue and a quick look at Peter Murphy’s first novel John the Revelator. Then to top it all off we have the now regular poems, recipes and two beautifully styled and shot fashion shoots.

Rather than cast judgment, we aimed to inspire and provide a platform for nascent creators.
